〈蝋燭〉は 4 × 5 の大判カメラによる撮影と、暗室での銀塩プリントによって制作された写真のシリーズ作品である。蝋燭に火を灯すと同時にシャッターを開き、燃え尽きた瞬間にシャッターを閉じる。つまり長時間露光によって撮影されている。

〈Candle〉 is a photographic series made using a 4 × 5 large-format camera and gelatin silver prints developed in the darkroom. The shutter is opened at the moment the candle is lit and closed the instant it burns out. In other words, each photograph is made through a long exposure.
